Author Background:

V.P. Goel, a former officer of the Indian Engineering Services, served with the Ministry of Defence, Government of India. He holds an M.Tech. from IIT Kharagpur and a B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from Banaras Hindu University. In 1999 and 2000, he was awarded Gold Medals for Jyotish Alankar and Jyotish Acharya at the Institute of Astrology, Bhartiya Vidya Bhawan, New Delhi, where he now serves on the faculty.
